Newberry Consort: A Mexican Christmas

  • Grace Lutheran Church 7300 Division Street River Forest, IL, 60305 United States (map)

Journey with us to 17th-century Mexico City, where the sonorous singing of nuns wafts into the city’s Zócolo (main plaza) and a band of villanciqueros (folk musicians) plays the jubilant music of the Christmas season. Featuring over thirty singers and instrumentalists, A Mexican Christmas is a wholly fresh and original holiday concert that celebrates the exuberant and diverse musical traditions of Mexico.
